SEPTEMBER EXHIBIT - Grand Canyon 100th Anniversary Celebration
The September HCAA Exhibit features art celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Grand Canyon and our own Harvey Girls. The exhibit is on display at the HCAA Gallery, 13A White Mountain Blvd., Pinetop, AZ.
This month the High Country Art Gallery honors the Grand Canyon Centennial with an exhibit of art that reflects our love for the canyons of Arizona. The same Grand Canyon that mesmorized Thomas Moran and the artists that followed his lead for nearly 150 years is still attracting artists, and in turn, their paintings compel a new generation of people from all over the world to come and see for themselves the boundless beauty of this enourmous place.
The HCAA has two members who have been associated with the Fred Harvey Girls and the gallery will honor them at this reception and throughout the month. Nancy Robinson and Johana Lee worked at the La Posada Hotel in Winslow as Harvey employees.
Our September Artist of the Month is Chuck Mackley. Chuck frequently paints en plein air at the Canyon and has fascinating stories to tell of his experiences painting the canyon.
