Gwen’s passion has always been landscape, particularly the landscape of the Southwest. She studied the European and American Impressionists, finding joy in the work of the California Impressionists. This was not surprising, as she was born and raised in California, and could see what they were seeing. Their mountains were her mountains, their sea was her sea. To this day, those experiences help form her painting vocabulary as an Arizona painter, where she lives on an Apache reservation with her husband.
During Gwen’s career, she has been a member of several organizations, including Women Artists of the West (waow.org), where she is an Emeritus member.
