High Country Art Association Member Gwen Meyer-Ethelbah

Gwen Meyer Ethelbah : Gwen’s early exposure as an artist’s daughter developed her eye and sense of painting structure. The style of her work can most closely be linked to the California plein air painters. She is particularly known for capturing the look and feel of each specific landscape, and enjoys painting either from photographs in her studio or in “plein air” (on location). Prior to her call to ministry and being ordained as a Unity minister, she owned and operated the Joyous Lake Gallery in Pinetop, AZ, where she sold her own oil paintings and those of many other artists, and held many shows, including Paint the Aspens, a plein air show exhibiting freshly-painted works of Arizona’s aspen forests. Presently, she manages the High Country Art Gallery, a membership gallery in Pinetop. As she says, “Life continues to evolve in new and interesting ways!”
