High Country Art Association Member Betty Amos

Opening your eyes to the wonders of the world of art is a long, delightful process.  A co-op such as Northeastern Arizona Fine Arts Association's gallery gives people an opportunity to purchase original art at a reasonable price or to come in and interact and just enjoy the many different approaches the current artists use to express their reactions to the visual world.  It is an exciting realm  so immense and varied that no one can possibly explore it all.

I often do close-ups of my subjects.  For instance, instead of painting a tree, I will fill my surface with the image of a twig. The more I give time and concentration to the visual world as an art form, the more it opens my eyes and makes me see things in a different way.  I convert my vision of the subject into a painting with unique design, color and style.

Betty was born in Coolidge, Arizona on December 22, 1931.  She has taken workshops with many well known artists.  Betty has studied at several Junior Colleges in the Phoenix area as well as Prescott, Alaska, Hawaii & Santa Fe.  Betty is a member of the Northeastern Arizona Fine Arts (NEAFAA) and shows her work at the  High Country Gallery in Pinetop, AZ.
